| JUDGE: Mr. James Nolan This was a memorable experience for me with wonderful weather, many top-quality Labradors and an overall background sound of exhibitors laughing and talking, having what seemed to me like a most enjoyable time at a good dog show. We were looked after exceptionally well and we thank the club for their kindness and generosity. Temperament in the Labradors was wonderful and it is a pleasure to go over such well-handled and clean Labradors. Coats were not at their best, not surprising considering the weather and the time of year, yet there are always a few who buck the system and hold their coats while all around them are losing theirs. As in the rest of the world we seem to have lost what was common in the 60s and 70s – gently swishing tails carried level with the topline when on the move. The standards may not specifically request this but it is a wonderful feature portraying the character of the Labrador and it is such a pleasure when it does happen. Perhaps it was just too hot on the two days of the show. |

It was so good to hear the wonderful way my decisions were accepted, and how appreciative everyone was to each other.
